EMS POINT-OF CARE ULTRASOUND
Given the trend of increased use of ultrasound during resuscitation in critical care and emergency medicine, and the introduction of more portable, durable devices has made it possible to expand the scope of practice for EMS professional. Clinical applications of POCUS in the out-of-hospital setting include enhancing assessment of a wide range of patient cohorts, including but not limited to medical and traumatic patients. Here some examples of the uses of ultrasound for EMS professionals.
This class is recommended for all students attending Air Medical Class, Critical Care Transport Academy, Prolonged Field Care, and the Community Paramedic Program. This is a three-day class for 24 CEU’s.
